Hem/Onc Visiting Guidelines

The hematology/oncology care team welcomes you to stay with your child whenever possible and encourages your child to have visitors. For the safety and security of our patients, parents, visitors and staff, we ask that you help us by following these visiting guidelines.

These guidelines are designed to promote a safe environment where children can get well faster and with fewer complications. Miller Children’s values its visitors and knows they are beneficial to your child’s recovery. However, we may need to limit them during your child’s hospital stay or course of treatment.

  • Direct contact with people who have a fever, sore throat, cough, diarrhea, and/or are feeling sick should be avoided, both at home and in the hospital.
  • While in the hospital, you, your child and others should not visit in another patient’s room, without checking with your nurse—especially if the patient is in isolation. If your child is sharing a room, the other patient will have been cleared for infection.
