The MemorialCare Center for Women Outpatient Specialty Clinics has several expert care teams that have been exclusively developed to meet an expectant or new mom’s specific needs.

Board-Certified Perinatalogists/Maternal Fetal Specialists

A maternal fetal specialist is an obstetrician who specializes in treating the fetus/baby and mother during pregnancy, labor and delivery, particularly when the mother and/or baby are at a high-risk for complications.

Additional Members of the Fetal Diagnostics Care Team

A labor & delivery nurse assesses women's pregnancy concerns and needs, carefully monitors labor and assists with delivery of the newborn.

A health care provider recognized as an expert in the fields of human lactation and breastfeeding.

 

Additional Members of OB/GYN Clinic Care Team

A physician who specializes in general women's medical care, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the female reproductive system, and care of pregnant women.

Doctors completing training in obstetrics.

Registered nurses who have received special training and can perform many of the duties of a physician.

A health care professional licensed to practice medicine with supervision of a licensed physician.

Health professionals trained in the art of preparing and dispensing drugs.

Dietitians and nutritionists assess patients’ nutritional needs, develop and implement nutrition programs, and evaluate and report the results. They also confer with doctors and other health care professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional needs.

A person who is specifically prepared in the techniques of nursing, who is a graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing and whose qualifications have been examined by a state board of nursing, and who has been legally authorized to practice as a licensed vocational nurse (LVN).

Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood and administering medications as directed by physician.
