The bright and colorful main lobby of the hospital includes the reception and information desk, as well as the Sanctuary, Gift Shop, Family Resource Center, Sibling Playroom and Conference Center. Visitors are asked to stop by the reception and information desk for a visitors’ badge, directions or information, if needed.

Located behind the lobby on the first floor of the new inpatient pavilion, the pediatric imaging center is easily accessible for quick outpatient radiology studies, and is centrally located to accommodate inpatient and emergency department needs. The center includes dedicated radiography (x-ray) rooms, radiography & fluoroscopy rooms, ultrasound rooms and dressing rooms with baby changing tables. MRI and CT services will be added when Children’s Hospital Bond (Proposition 3) funds become available.

The Family Resource Center is located in the main lobby next to the Gift Shop. The center provides families with the opportunity to conduct research, read books and watch videos about their child’s condition, stay in touch with family members via email, connect with other parents, or just enjoy a cup of coffee.

The sibling playroom is located in the main lobby right next to the elevators. The playroom is staffed by a Child Life Specialist, and offers a free and safe area for patients' brothers and sisters to play. This is a great place for siblings to socialize and have fun while parents are visiting their hospitalized child, meeting with their child’s care team or undergoing an outpatient procedure.

The nondenominational sanctuary is next to the Gift Shop in the main lobby, and is open at all times for quiet reflection or prayer.

Located off the main lobby, the Gift Shop offers toys, snacks, toiletries, balloons, flowers and much more. Please check with a member of your child's care team before purchasing flowers for your child's room, as some areas of the hospital, like the ICU, do not permit them. The Gift Shop is operated by dedicated volunteers of the Children’s Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and all proceeds benefit Miller Children's Hospital Long Beach.

The conference center is located in the lobby between the Sibling Playroom and the Family Resource Center. As a teaching hospital, the conference center is designed to bring various groups together to share information, learning and research, as well as for parent education and special events.
