It takes a special person to give a part of themselves to others. Each volunteer may have joined for different reasons, but the end result of their contributions is the same – helping patients at Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach.
Miller Children’s and the Memorial Medical Center Foundation seek energetic people to volunteer at fundraising events. Look through the calendar of events and if you would like to learn more about volunteer opportunities contact (562) 933-GIVE and ask to speak to a development officer.
Individual gifts are helpful, but sometimes people may feel they may want to do more than just donate money. Miller Children’s and the Memorial Medical Center Foundation has several fundraising groups, that are good for anyone at any age, whether a novice fundraiser or a fundraising pro.
There are many exciting volunteer opportunities at Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach, whether you are in high school or a retired professional. Volunteers can work in non-patient care or patient care areas with programs such as, the Grandparents’ Program and the NICU Cuddlers’ Program. There is also a special Volunteen Program, where high-school students get the opportunity to volunteer and learn about working in a health care setting. The need for caring volunteers is endless. For more information, please contact the Child Life Department at (562) 933-8060.
