Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach (MCHLB), a pediatric teaching hospital, prides itself on supporting the growth and education of the physicians of tomorrow. In partnership with University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, the Center for Health Education (CHE) is on the campus of Miller Children’s and Long Beach Memorial.
Miller Children’s and Long Beach Memorial are accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians and health care teams. Miller Children’s and Long Beach Memorial take responsibility for content, quality and scientific integrity of the CME activity.
Through CHE, Miller Children’s offers physicians the chance to participate in professional development and certification programs, such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support and weekly Grand Rounds. It also has a strong pediatric residency education program where residents have access to noon conferences every day. Physicians at MCHLB also have access to Parks Medical Library which is on the hospitals campus.
Miller Children’s also offers Neonatal/Perinatology Medical Fellowship and the Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship programs that expose trainees to a broad medical specialty clinical experience, as well as the opportunity to work on a relevant research project with an attending physician.
