Outpatient Specialty Centers

The Outpatient Specialty Centers at Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach is a major referral center for outpatient pediatric specialty care, offering more than 30 sub-specialties, with some of the most caring pediatric sub-specialists. Children are seen at the Outpatient Specialty Centers for a variety of reasons—from a one-time consultation to treatments for acute, chronic or surgical conditions. Outpatient Specialty Centers are known for serving as the “medical home” for many patients who will need ongoing follow-up care and support on a regular basis. Patients do not stay overnight in the outpatient setting.

Pediatric Specialty Care Close to Home

Miller Children’s has hospital-based outpatient specialty centers and clinics, as well as five satellite centers to serve the community. Having satellite centers allows a child’s health condition—from common to complex—to be treated close to home. The satellite centers not only provide convenient access to pediatric specialty care, but also access to the expertise of Miller Children's specialists.

Each specialty center, or clinic within the center, has a multi-specialty care team, complete with sub-specialists, fellows, residents, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, child life specialists, social workers, nutritionists and others who work together to provide quality, compassionate specialty care.
