Volunteers are valued members of the health care team. All volunteer programs at Miller Children’s & Women’s provide volunteers the opportunity to gain valuable experiences and learn new skills while impacting the patient, family and staff experience.
There are many exciting volunteer opportunities at Miller Children’s & Women’s. Volunteers can work in non-patient care or patient care areas with programs such as, the Grandparents’ Program, Pediatric Rehabilitation Program and the NICU Cuddler Program. There also is a Volunteen Program, where high school students get the opportunity to volunteer and learn about working in a health care setting. The need for caring volunteers is endless. Adult Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age
Application/Screening Process
Volunteers must complete an online application
After completing above mentioned process, you will be asked to:
Attend volunteer services orientation (offered twice monthly)
Purchase a volunteer uniform at a cost of $23.00
Complete and show competence in your service area training(s) as related to your duties
The Volunteen Program is for high school students ages 15-18. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain insight into health care related careers. Teens are accepted into the Volunteen Program in the fall, spring and summer months with a commitment of one half hour during the school year and a minimum of four hours during the summer months.
