The Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Center (JJCCC) at Miller Children’s cares for children with cancer and other serious blood disorders. JJCCC relies on philanthropic gifts and grants to ensure a healthy future for the children in our community.
Children with cancer and serious blood disorders often have extended hospital stays and need constant support throughout their journey. JJCCC uses much of their philanthropic support to ensure a psychosocial team dedicated solely to children with cancer—complete with child life specialists, psychologists and social workers—are with each patient from the day of admission, their time in the hospital and throughout follow-up treatment.
A significant portion of the Center’s funding is provided through community support and fundraising, including the annual Champions Run for Life, “Torch Run,” and the Profiles of Courage Gala that honors young patients and community leaders. While fundraising, is crucial to JJCCC, the gift of time is also appreciated.
