Participate in Our First-Ever Virtual Torch Run

Register today to be a part of history, reconnect with friends and celebrate our patients.

Options to Participate

Be a Runner / Walker

Current patients, survivors and families honoring loved ones can run, walk, wheel or be carried in a place that feels safest for them. Runners can have their family and friends show their support by walking or running together. Run as an individual, join a team or create a team.

Runners will capture their lap on a digital device and submit the video. Once you register, a member of our volunteer committee will reach out to you to coordinate a delivery of your torch and assist in filming your run. Your video will be included in a compilation that will be featured during the virtual Torch Run on Saturday, July 31. Please find film guidelines in the Event Resources section below.

The deadline to register as a runner/walker is Thursday, July 1.

While fundraising is an option for runners/walkers, you’re not required to fundraise. However, if you or your team fundraise $1,500 or more, you will reach our sponsorship level and receive exciting benefits!

Fundraise

Create a fundraising page as an individual, make a fundraising team or join an existing team. Your efforts can change the life of a child affected by cancer or serious blood disorder. If you have been looking for a way to make a difference, here is your chance! If your team raises $1,500 or more, you will reach our sponsorship level and receive exciting benefits!

Donate

Torch Run supports comprehensive care, research and support programs for more than 800 children each year. These programs, include psychology, social work, late effects, survivorship care, sibling activities, school re-integration, art therapy, child life and research. Any amount small or big helps. However, if you donate $1,500 or more, you will reach our sponsorship level and receive exciting benefits!

Sponsorships

In honor of this year’s 35th Anniversary, sponsors — Bronze level and above — will have an opportunity to leave their mark at the brand-new Cherese Mari Laulhere Children’s Village. The Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Institute has a dedicated clinic suite in the Children’s Village. Patients also have access to rehabilitation gyms, imaging, pharmacy and other medical support services in one convenient location.

For any questions regarding donations to the event, fundraising opportunities, and sponsorships, please contact the MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach Foundation at (562) 933-4483 or MMCF@memorialcare.org.

Volunteer

Volunteers can participate by filming themselves carrying signs and cheering on patients on their digital devices. Your video may be added to the video compilation to help patients get “fired up” on the day of Torch Run. This is just one of the many ways that volunteers are needed to help make our virtual Torch Run special for patients. Email TorchRun@memorialcare.org or call (562) 933-8605 to lend a helping hand.
